 Hurricane Katrina resulted in huge changes in our city, and we have been affected as well. The New Orleans Recreation Department is active, but have not reopened several parks and gyms around the city. The Board of Directors along with many parents reopened Lakeview in January 2006 to offer our young athletes the baseball activities they've loved for years. We are steadily rebuilding our playground and currently offer baseball, softball, cabbageball, football, volleyall and basketball. The Lakeview Boosters Club supports these programs by volunteering much needed time and skills, and through their tireless fundraising efforts. Our members have lost so much of their own, but continue to give so much of themselves for our children. If you would like to help in any way, please contact us and let us know.
